writing mentorship

Session length: 1 hours

Price: $150

This is a one-on-one mentorship program carefully designed for you, depending on your project, your work-load needs and your writing level.

-Sessions are 1 hour long, where I will give you intensive feedback on your 10-20 pages of writing.

-The feedback addresses the structural issues and components, pace, your characters’ aliveness, and what the language is doing to your piece and to your characters.

-I will give you a curated list of reading material (short stories, novels, plays, movies) to both support and inspire the content and the form of your work.

-I will also discuss the dichotomies that naturally exist in your work, that bring your work to life (or how to do that if these do not yet exist in your work.)

-Lastly, I will provide guidance and “writing games” to help you release areas where you feel stuck in your writing.

Time: 7-9pm PT

8 Sessions

Capacity: 6 Seats

Through the 8 weeks, you will submit two 10 page pieces and as a class we will critique your work, giving you constructive feedback. At the end of the workshop you will have a strong understanding of how to use your intuition and the internal logic of your work to continue building your piece.

An eight-week workshop where writers learn to:

  • trust the internal logic of a piece

  • distinguish between outside expectations and the needs of the work

  • receive critique without losing their own voice

  • identify the questions driving a project

  • develop momentum that lasts beyond the workshop

body of work - artist mentorship

body of work - painting workshop

Session length: 1 hour

Price: $150

Level: All levels welcome

These sessions are designed for artists who want to build more than individual paintings. Together, we'll develop the thoughts, structure, and the sustained practice to generate a body of work.

What to expect:

Clarify your direction

We'll begin by identifying where you are in your practice and what you're hoping to build—whether you're developing an existing body of work, revisiting older work, or beginning from a blank slate. We'll identify the questions and next steps that matter most to you.

Deep critique

Through close looking and conversation, we'll examine the structure of your work: composition, materials, process, and the relationship between form and content. Rather than focusing on isolated pieces, we'll consider how individual works contribute to a larger body of work.

Research and dialogue

Our conversations are informed by art history, contemporary practice, literature, and other references that resonate with your work. You'll leave with artists, books, and ideas to continue exploring between sessions.

Building an independent practice

Beyond individual artworks, we'll develop ways of working that help you navigate uncertainty, strengthen your artistic intuition, and build a practice that can sustain itself over time, until eventually you will only need you.
